Battle of the Books

We are now recruiting members for the Heim team that will compete at the countywide contest.  Any 7th grade student who is interested in being on the competing team should get a permission slip from Mrs. Ashby and return it as soon as possible.  You can also download a copy of the permission slip under "files" on this page.

The competition

The countywide competition will take place at Stafford Middle School on March 11, 2010.  On that day our team will compete against the six other middle schools who are participating until Heim emerges as the Champion of the Books at the end of the day!

Making the team

Our final team can only have 12 students participating.  In order to decide who will be on the team Mrs. Ashby will be giving points to all those who are interested in competing.  The point system is under "Files" on this page. 

One of the activities students can do to earn points is to complete the book summary sheet for any titles they read.  Once the interested students begin practicing in January we will discuss this sheet in detail.  However, the form is also located under "Files" on this page for those who would like to get started.
